Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for grants provided as part of this solicitation, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
  • Serve immigrant or refugee communities;
  • Have strong refugee and immigrant involvement and a trusted relationship with refugee and immigrant communities and their leaders;
  • Have current programs or recently funded programs that include IPV prevention—as defined above—in refugee and immigrant communities;
  • Applicants, or their partners, should have prior experience in prevention of IPV;
  • Consist of a single organization or a partnership which will include one lead agency, and one or more partnering agencies;
  • Applicants should provide sociocultural and linguistically competent services that aim to change local norms that can cause IPV;
  • Have community representation or participation in a leadership position and/or meaningful advisory role for the program;
  • Funded sites must be located within the geographic boundaries of the United States and its territories.
Applicants may be large national organizations with local, community level branches; local community-based organizations; grassroots community partnerships; consortia of community-based organizations focusing on health care, welfare, human rights
or other related fields; or ethnic/cultural organizations addressing IPV. Programs need not exclusively target IPV to be eligible.

Applicant Requirements
Applicants:
  • must be a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code;
  • cannot be a private foundation as defined under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code; and
  • must show a commitment of staff resources and time, and the organizational capacity to continue program evaluation and actively utilize results.
